Secondary Requirements:

 

  • Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
  • Mow and edge lawns, using power mowers, edgers and weedeaters.
  • Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
  • Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes.
  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
  • Gather and remove litter.
  • Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and structures such as fences, and benches, using hand and power tools.
  • Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
  • Maintain irrigation systems, including replacement of nozzles, heads, valves and lines.
  • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
  • Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds.
  • Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.
  • Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste.
  • Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage.
  • Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
  • Haul or spread topsoil, and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.
  • Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes.
  • Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, planters, and/or playground equipment.

From time to time this position will require someone to:

 

  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Inspect properties and construction sites and determine trash from valuable material.
  • Install, repair, and replace silt fence.
  • Install, inspect and replace Storm Water Management controls such as silt fence, street drain filters etc.
  • General construction and site clean up

 

Compensation: $9-12.00/HR commensurate on experience.
